Feldenkrais Method Classes
Group classes are called Awareness Through Movement classes or ATMs.
These often take place lying down where you are verbally guided through a series of gentle and playful movement explorations.
These are designed to help you recognise your current movement patterns and to support you as you explore new possibilities which were previously not available to you.
There is no strain or pain involved - the phrases you are likely to hear are “do less” or ‘‘make the movement smaller”.
The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and is conducive to everybody learning at their own pace.
No special equipment is required - just wear comfortable clothing and it is a good idea to bring along an extra pair of warm socks. The classes are suitable for everyone but if you are pregnant or if you have difficulty getting up or down to/from the floor, please contact me first.
On-line classes will return in the Autumn
Awareness Through Movement classes are particularly suited to online learning as you are not looking at a screen, but simply responding to verbal cues.
In addition to the live class, you will receive a link to the audio recording of the class, so that if you cannot attend, you can do the lesson at a time that suits you. The link will remain active for at least one month. And if you do attend, you can repeat the class should you wish to do so.
Before you take your first online class please read ‘Guidance for online classes’ and ‘How often should I do Awareness Through Movement’ in the Blog section of this website https://www.mindyourbody.ie/blog
In-person classes and workshops.
The next workshop will take place in Little Bird in Dublin on September 20th 2025 from 3.00pm - 5.00pm
Room to Breathe: Awareness through Movement workshop
with Padraic Mulholland
Saturday, 20 September, 3pm-5pm / €35
Ease of breathing is of fundamental importance to our wellbeing. In this workshop we will not be learning a new ‘breathing technique’ but rather we will explore how Awareness Through Movement and the Feldenkrais Method can support our breathing. We will play with a variety of different movements to learn how we can literally create more room to breathe, no matter what our orientation to gravity (i.e. lying down, sitting, standing, crouching etc.)
Treat yourself and take time out to nurture your breathing.
The workshop is suitable for everybody and no previous experience is needed..
Booking is through the Little Bird website: https://little-bird.ie/events-workshops/
